Jean-Baptiste-IV est fils de Jean-Baptiste-III Besner et de Josephte Lalonde de la Lignée des Besner dits "Benjamin"; naissance enregistrée le 22 janvier 1824; mariage enregistré à Coteau-du-Lac le 1er octobre 1844 avec JOSEPHTE ROBY, fille de Louis Roby dit "Payen" et de Suzanne Lalonde (cette Lalonde était la veuve de Joseph Bourbonnais). Établis à Ogdensburg, État de New York vers 1860.
Jean-Baptiste Besener was b. 21 Jan 1824 and bpt. 22 Jan 1824 the son of Jean-Baptiste-III and Josephte (Lalonde) Besener at St. Joseph, Les Cedres, Soulanges, Quebec. He m. 1st October 1844 Josephte Roby in St. Ignace, Coteau-du-lac, Soulanges, Quebec. Josephte was b. 15 Apr 1818 according to her death certificate. She was the daughter of Louis and Suzanne (Lalonde) Roby. Josephte was called Zoe Besner. Jean-Bpte and Zoe were married on the same day as Jean's sister Marcelline. In 1851 Jean-Bpte and Zoe were living in St. Clet. According to the 1851 census, Zoe was b. in St Polycarpe although a baptismal record for her has not been found. In 1870, Jean-Bpt & Zoe were living in Henderson, NY with their children Moses, Metilda, and Marie. In 1880 they were living at 164 Grant Street, Ogdensburg. In 1900 John and "Margaret" were living at 22 Grant St, Ogdensburg. In 1905 Zoe was living with her daughter, Rose at 32 Grant St, Ogdensburg. John Besnair d. 28 Jun 1904 in Ogdensburg at the age of 81 and was buried 29 Jun 1904. Zoe Besnair d. 6 May 1915 at the ripe age of 97 years and was buried 9 May 1915. John and Zoe are buried in Notre Dame cemetery.

Joseph Besner b. and bpt. 6 Jun 1848 in St. Ignace, Coteau-du-lac, Soulanges, Quebec. In 1851 he was living with the family, age 4. Joseph Besnaire m. 11 Jan 1875 MELINA CARDINAL at Ogdensburg. Joseph and his wife Minnie were living next door to his parents at 165 Grant St, Ogdensburg in 1880. Joseph Basnar of Ogdensburg was naturalized on 12 Oct 1892 at Ogdensburg. Joseph Besnair m. 2nd MARIE LEROUX on 2 Feb 1901 at Ogdensburg.
4- JOSEPH-HYACINTHE-V BESNER (called Jesse). Twin Joseph Hyacenthe Besner was b. 18 Dec in St. Ignace and bpt. 19 Dec 1849 in St. Polycarpe, Soulanges, Quebec. In 1851 he was living with his family in St. Clet, age 2. The census also lists St. Ignace as his birthplace. Joseph Hyacenthe went by the name Jesse. He is living in Henderson, Jefferson Co., NY in 1870 as a laborer living with Orange VanDyne. He m. Abt 1874 AMELIA ANN HARRIS the daughter of Thomas and Jane Harris. Amelia was b. in England abt 1844. In 1875 Jesse is living in Henderson with his new wife and daughter, Libbie. Jesse purchased 22 acres of land in Ellisburg, Jefferson Co., NY on the 9 Mar 1876 from Ruth E. Lafleur of Ellisburg. Jesse and Amelia then moved to Ellisburg where they were living in 1880. By 1900 Jesse and Amelia had moved to Lorraine, Jefferson Co. NY. Jesse was naturalized 18 Oct 1876 in Jefferson county court. Jesse d. 18 May 1919 in Lorraine, Jefferson Co., NY. 6- ROSE-ÉLÉONORE-V BESNER, naissance enregistrée à St-Clet le 4 novembre 1851.
Rose Elinore Bezner bpt 5 Nov 1850 in St. Clet. She was age 3 months in 1851 census of St. Clet, Vaudreuil, Quebec. Rose never married. In 1900 she was living at 182 Ford St. Ogdensburg as a servent to Wm and Leona McGaw. In 1905 Rose was living with her mother Zoe at 32 Grant St., Ogdensburg. She d. 20 Dec 1916 leaving a will which was probated 25 Jan 1925.

8- LOUISE-V BESNER. On 3 Aug 1883, Louisa Bezner purchased property in Ogdensburg from Louisa Kiah. The conveyance was subject to the sole use occupation and enjoyment of Louisa's mother and father John and Zoe Bezner. The property was a 100 x 50 foot lot in the block bounded by Green, Grant, Knox and Kiah streets. Louisa m. a LOVEJOY (MÉNARD) . On 22 Mar 1892 John and Zoe sold this property back to Louisa Lovejoy (Ménard) for one dollar. On 15 Mar 1895, Louisa sold this property to David Townsend. Louisa must have died by 1900 as her 11 year old son, Joseph, was living with her sister Mary Robillard.
9- MOÏSE-V BESNER, Moise (Moses) Besner b. in Coteau-du-Lac, Quebec, Canada and bpt 19 Oct 1855 at St. Polycarpe, Soulanges, Quebec; died about 1949, aged 92 in Ogdensburg, Saint Lawrence County, New York. In 1870 he was living in Henderson, NY with his parents. Moise Besnair m. 6 Feb 1882, Ogdensburg with LOUISE RICHARDS, born unknown and died February 07, 1909 in Ogdensburg. Moses Bezner of Oswegotchie, St. Lawrence Co., NY was naturalized at Ogdensburg on 3 Oct 1884. Moyse m. 2nd with MARIE DUHAINE on 6 Nov 1911 at Ogdensburg.
