Basic principles of the Repertory
The Bézanaire-Bézanère-Besner Repertory of French origin, is made up of family charts. It claims to comprise all the families having a man or woman bearing the name BESNER who have existed from 1760 to this day and as far as the 6th generation; we can find the subsequent generations of each family on the chart of the 6th generation.
Here is an example of part of a 6th generation family chart as seen below...

Each family chart contains also an ancestory chart, where names providing links, allow the surfer to go upstream into the genealogy of a family, directly to the Canadian Ancestor.
Here is an example of such an ascendancy chart...

The data are generally expressed in terms of "birth recorded at..." instead of "born at..." - "marriage recorded at..." rather than "married...." - "death recorded at ...." instead of "deceased or burial This choice in terminology is motivated by the fact that those who compiled the data could have taken in account the locality where the birth is recorded, which often differs from the family residence, or have confounded at times, the date of birth, and at times the recorded christening. The same observations apply concerning deaths. As for marriages, they could be of civilian nature.
Finally, the roman numbers following the first name (Hector-VI Besner, Denis-VII Besner, etc) indicates at which generation that person belongs, the canadian ancestor wearing number 1 (Jean 1er Bézanaire).
Table of contents (index) of the Repertory
For someone who wants to initiate a research, the table of contents is the essential tool. This table of contents includes seven options, each one leading to one of the seven divisions of the Repertory of the families according to the surname of the root family (useful if surnames are known).
The table of contents comprises in as many blocks as necessary, some 850 couples of which one of the components is of Besner extraction, male or female. In order to alleviate the task, the author has chosen however to use only the masculin element of the couples for alphabetical classification.
After having chosen the name to be found, the surfer will only have to click on the numerical code following this name; this will lead him or her directly to the family chart where this couple is listed.
This Repertory has not been translated in English. However, anglos will at all times resort to the surfing bar, where a lexicon will supply the English words enabling them to understand essentially the French data. Thank you to Denis Besner of Chateauguay who devoted his time to the English translation of some parts of this section.
Finally, note that dating in french gives (in order) the day-the month- the year.
HAPPY SURFING
